PC Specification


What PC do I need to run my CTR laser machine?


CTR laser machines all require a PC to drive them. We supply the software and software dongle as standard, but you need to either allocate a PC for the laser machine, or buy a PC from us.

PC systems for all CTR laser machines apart from the E5 and TMX90 are NOT compatible with laptops or slim-line desktop PC models. This is because the laser machine requires a PCI card with rear-pannel connection to be installed into the PC.

Whilst a relatively low specification of PC is adequate for running the laser machine, if there are other applications, software or services using significant processing power whilst the laser machine is running, this may cause disruption to the laser cutting and/or engraving process.

The PC required for running the laser should have a minimum specification of:

PC Type : Full Tower PC - NOT a laptop or slimline PC.

Processor : Pentium 4
RAM : 512 MB
Hard Disk : 40 GB
Display : 1024 x 768, 256 colours.
Expansion : 1 clear full PCI slot and 1 USB 2.0 port.
[ Expansion for E5 and TMX90 only ] : [ 2 USB 2.0 ports ]
Operating System : Windows XP ( NOT Vista )

A Pentium dual core PC and TFT monitor of significantly higher specification can be supplied.
